Question: What is the difference between hair/glam metal and regular metal!?
I thought hair metal was just the way you looked, with the big hair that looked like it could serve as a woman's hairdo!. But guess theres more to it than that!? So what is the difference between hair metal and just straight metal!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hair metal tends to have more melody and hooks to the sound!. Most solos and guitar work are played in major scales or blues scales, as opposed to normal metal which is usually played in minor scales!. This deviance gives the sound a much more upbeat (i!.e!. crappy) sound!. Most of the lyrical content is usually about partying, falling in/out of love, etc, whereas normal metal usually deals with more relevant issues (political, social, introspective themes)!. Overall, in my opinion, hair metal sucks, and should not even be called metal!. But thats just my opinion, and Im sure many people actually like this stuff!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hair metal is usually more pop oriented with sappy themes!. For example, Bon Jovi and later Def Leppard!. Metal is the opposite!. It doesn't suck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
