Marching band flutists?!

Question: Marching band flutists!?
Ok, so next year I'm going to be in my high school's marching band!. I currently play on a professional Yamaha 684H flute, which I REALLY do not want to use out on the field where it can be damaged in harsh weather!. also, sometimes you have to put your flute on the ground to remember your position when taking a break!.!.!. that will probably get my flute kicked around or stepped on, which can cause dents/scratches and worse, so I'm getting a cheaper flute that will tolerate those conditions better!.

I'm looking for a flute that's not TOO nice, but plays well!.!.!. just some sort of student flute that is decent for an experienced player like me!.

The most I can spend is about $300-$700!.

Some brands I'm thinking about are Yamaha or Pearl!.!.!. but also Jupiter, Armstrong, and Gemeinhardt if I'm desperate!.

Any suggestions/advice!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Ahh yes playing flute in a marching band!. I used a student model made by Yamaha on field for 6 years and it lasted through snow, ice, heat you name it!. Always leave your good flute home!! You can find pretty inexpensive ones probably where you live like "Music and Arts" and "Music Go Round"!. Yamahas are generally inexpensive and they definitely hold up!. also try and stay away from open holed flutes especially if you have to wear gloves!. You can never cover the holes properly and during inclement weather, your flute will be very unhappy!. Good Luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
