Need advice from modern sound techs or guitar effect geeks...?!

Question: Need advice from modern sound techs or guitar effect geeks!.!.!.!?
I need to know what guitar effect or special amp is being used on the intros to "For a Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic" and "Thats What You Get" off of Paramore's 2007 album, RIOT! The effect I'm referring to is the same for both intros and is being used on the lead guitar!. To me it almost sounds like some sort of octovian note shifter pedal or an ibanez tube screamer perhaps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's alot of studio magic and over-dubbing!. The octave-like sound you're hearing is probably a single track with the guitar player playing the riff in octaves, which is a pretty common thing to do these days!. As for what effects/amp the player is using is very hard to tell!. There's definitely distortion, but I'm pretty sure it's not a Tube Screamer!. It's going to be next to impossible to recreate that tone for a live gig!. I guarantee that the band sounds nowhere close, live, to what they sound like in the studio!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
