Talking Heads were better classified as New Wave
Television's sound was adopted by many post punk bands but time wise they were actually before England stole punk from the New York original punk bands (Mclaren even based the Sex Pistols look on what Tom Verlaine had been wearing for years)
But there is no doubt that Television would be considered progenitors of what punk would become thus post-punk doesn't really fit!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
