Please help me I D a classical music piece that was theme song for NPR classical!

Question: Please help me I D a classical music piece that was theme song for NPR classical music show ca!. 1989!?
I listened to the show when I was living in Chicago!. Pretty sure it was an NPR station that had a classical music show!. It opened with a very simple piano piece that I would love to learn to play, now that I am studying piano!.

Not sure the key, but if I try to replicate on my piano I get:
(all half notes unless otherwise noted)
E D
G (dotted half) F (1/4)
E (1/4) G (1/4) A (1/4) D
A D
E (1/4) F(1/4) G
Dflat F
E (1/4) G (1/4) C (1/4)B (1/4)
D C

Ok, something doesn't add up there but it's as close as I can get!

Thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

This is sort of close to the second movement of Beethoven's Pathetique piano sonata - http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=klZYv-f9k!.!.!.

My first guess was the second movement of Respighi's "Pines of Rome" - http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=cKXkFZ4Fq!.!.!. (fast forward about 2:30)Www@Enter-QA@Com

L!. v!. Beethoven -- Adagio from Sonata Pathatique

I think you have some notes wrong but I would agree that it sounds like the slow movement of the Pathetique!. It is not a simple piece but it is a piano piece!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think it might or might not be a minor key of cannon in dWww@Enter-QA@Com
