When my first daughter was still quite small she used to say to me, 'Daddy can you put on Concert rondo!?' She referred to Mozart's Concert Rondo in D major, K382!. I believe !.!.!. without being at all certain !.!.!. that it was originally intended as the final movement of a piano concerto!. When I put the record on (this was before the advent of CDs) she would skip around the floor like a little balerina!. She loved it!
She is now a civil engineer and she has a great love of classical music!. But when I recently played the Concert Rondo she didn't recognise it!. She remembered dancing to something but not exactly what!.
Both my daughters like classical music (it does not prevent them also listening to some of the most awful racket that is modern pop music!) and this love did not come from their father ramming it down their throats!. It came through being exposed to it!. They heard it often, they grew up without predjudice!.
I like to think that their love of classical music was a gift from their Dad; but it certainly wasn't thrust in their face!.
If you love classical music yourself your children will pick up on it!. They may reject it, of course, but at least they won't reject it without experiencing it!.
And if you don't love classical music!? W-e-ll, why would you want your children to love it!?
If you really want suggestions here are a few; Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf (with a narator) Grieg's Peer Gynt, any of Tchaikovsky's ballets, Shostakovich's Jazz Suites, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusic, Vaughan-Williams The Wasps Overture and incidental music!. And, of course, there is much more out there!. Happy hunting!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Show them Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev!. It was intended for kids!.
Aside from that, opera overtures are typically very upbeat and have catchy melodies!. Those by Rossini are good, others by Mozart, Offenbach, or Verdi are good as well!. They can be easily appreciated and are fun to listen to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
