Question: What instruments do they use in rap songs!?
What kind of instruments do they use in rap songs!. Is there anyway I could get an instrument like that on Garageband!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

In the beggining of hip hop they used samples!. They would take old records and put them on a device called an MPC!. They would then sample drums or keep the same drums on it and replay the same 8 second loop through the old song!.
As hiphop moved forward and technology got more advanced they started taking the samples and chopping them in pieces and reorganizing them to make new sounds!.
Then hip hop moved onto using alot of synths and keyboards!. Keyboards like the Motif or Phantom!. Composers (or people who make hip hop but dont sample) usually have one of these two keyboards if not both!.
Today many producers like Kanye West and Just Blaze as well as the majority of producers in hip hop still sample all the sounds in a hip hop song!. And contrary to what people are saying you can make whole songs without a computer!. In fact alot of sample producers frown on using sounds straight from the computer!.
But as far as composing yeah they use cpu's!. But most producers dont use Garage Band!. Although Polow Da Don (who made Love in this Club) did take some sounds off of Garage Band to make that song!. If your just starting out and have no equipment!. Try FL Studio!. And look up ways to sample music!. Thats the best way to get started!.

Mostly computer, percussion instruments, and keyboard sounds!. I'd say a keyboard is just about everyones best friend!. That's where you get all the synthed strings (violins, etc) from!. Even some backup vocals, where they're just tones and not words!? Those are often synthed!. So I'd just look into getting a good keyboard with a variety of sounds and mixes!. but you're talking about investing at least a grand in a good one!. Good luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think rap songs usually don't use specific instruments but like beats they can mess around w/ in their studios n' stuff it's more technology involved :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com
