kind of like comparing apple and oranges!. They were (are) both great bands but totally different and both trend setters!. cheap trick is the older of the two bands and is still going strong!. The cars occasionally reunite for a concert and talk about a new recording project that never happens!.

I'd go with the Cars!. Their first two albums were classics!.

No contest for me; loved the Cars back in the 70s and my roommate at the time had to tell me who Cheap Trick was!. I'm laughing remembering how shocked they were I didn't know this incredibly great band!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Only know a very limited amount of material by both but from what I've heard Cheap Trick would be my pick!. Probably the vocals I prefer, and they sound less 80's-y!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
