Search for instrumental song?!

Question: Search for instrumental song!?
Is there any way to do an online search for a song that has no words/lyrics!? I'm trying to find a particular piece of classical music, but I don't know the name of the piece, nor do I know who composed it!.

Are there any search engines or websites that could help me find this song (maybe by typing in a few notes or something)!?

Any (real) suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's not what you're describing, but it's helped identify quite a few pieces of classical music!

EDIT: To answer another part of your question - how to search for a song with no lyrics - the best way to do that is through association!.

Where have you heard this piece!? If you've heard it in a commercial or movie or TV show, maybe you could search for:

"[ name of thing you heard it in ] classical music"Www@Enter-QA@Com

a) If it has no lyrics - it is not a song!.
b) So let me get this right!.!.!. you have no absolutely no information about the song, so you expect the search engines on the internet to read your mind, right!?

Edit: I beg to differ it is not a song and if you are asking for a music tapper then why didn't you say that!. I suppose I should be grateful that we weren't given a line of "duns"Www@Enter-QA@Com

You are wrong, lady!. An instrumental piece without lyrics is NEVER a song!. No way, no how!. Never!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

What instruments are played in it!? It is for a solo instrrument!? You can do random classical music searches on imesh but u have to download the track before you can listen to it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

As for the 'song' thing!. There are very very few instrumental pieces that are called songs (IE song without words, etc)!. In that case it usually denotes to play the piece as though one was a singer!. Song actually means a piece with words!. In general its best to use piece as the default (to avoid contention)!. But that is neither here nor there!.

I would very much like to know if such search engines exist myself (so great question)!. Perhaps if you describe insturmentation, tempo, period, anything you can recall we can give you a few preliminary guesses off which you can search!.

I'll come back in a bit to check and see if I can help you out!.:)

Edit: NP girl!. I love Chopin!. I would've enjoyed looking through my collections to find that!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Before I answer I have to say!.!.!. Malcom D (and the goon squad who are, instead of answering her question, using this as a forum), what the hell!? The times have changed, to use 'song' in its literal definition is to give vocalists higher merit than instrumentalists to the less knowledgable!.

Aside from that, though, I don't think there is any possible way to find a piece without lyrics online quickly!.!.!. not without the name or composer!.

If you can grasp the style of the piece, though, the era, instruments, and deduce some composers, you could probably find it through intense searching---where YouTube would be a great ally!. But there are a lot of classical pieces by composers whose names I know not that I am longing to find, too!.

If you can sing, perhaps, or even play by ear, you could find a few music teachers (who **** about **** =]) and play your rendition of it to them!.!.!. they may know of the piece!.

I do like that first suggestion, though, I didn't know such a site existed!.

[Edit]: Oh you found it!. Argh, I'm always answering questions too late!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
