Answers:
4/4 time can be really any BPM!.

'time signature' means:

how many 'beats' in each measure / what note value equals a 'beat' (i!.e!. 4 = a quarter note)

!.!.!.It's more about reading sheet music than determining tempo

So, at 100 bpm, every click would be a beat, so call that a quarter note!. Then there would be 4 clicks per measure on the page, and that would be 4/4 time at 100 bpm!.

To help you understand this better!.!.!. in 4/4 time, a 'whole note' would be 4 clicks on your metronome, and take up an entire measure on the page!.

So, 3/4 time means "3 quarter notes per measure, and repeat" and 5/8 means "5 eighth notes per measure" and so on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oishi is right!. The thing you have to remember is that in percussion YOU can "push" the timing of the piece faster or retard the tempo while your accompaniment's time does not change!. A good reference for this is Neil Peart's "A Work in Progress" DVD!. In this, he explains how this works!. I hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
