Yes, they sound very good for both metal and blues, and I would suggest getting the "You Dirty Rat" pedal!. It has a really nice distortion for chunky metal riffs, and let's you squeal the high notes while keeping them clean for blues!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Rat adds grit, it's a gain stacker, it's not so good as a standalone pedal!. If you have decent blues distortion already, this will make it grittier, which can be a good thing!. Likewise with rock!.
I think i've only heard the Turbo Rat personally!. Not necessarily my thing, but I'd have to play with it more to figure out if it would fit into my rig!.
