Can't really be fixed!.
If you've ever played a fat american strat or even a mexi-reissue, you'd know!. Go to guitar center and do so!. Why not!? The wood is cheaper and thin hurting your tone!. The tuning keys aren't that good so you have tuning problems!.
You could change the pickups and that would help A LOT, but I can't think of anything else you would really want to fool with doing to it!. You'll want a better axe in the future!.
Edit: Do you already have one or are you thinking of getting one!? If you don't have one yet, you need to be real sure that the strat sound is what you're looking for!. It's really distinctive!. A better "rock" guitar is an epi les paul!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i had one and i didn't really encounter many problems, then again i only had it for 8 months!.!.!. the only negative things were that the wood wasn't the best quality (got scratched easier than other guitars) and the sound isn't the greatest!. but the more expensive squire strats are actually decent!. but the cheaper ones around $100-200 are the ones your most likely gonna have problems with!.

as a beginner, it is a fine guitar!. The tone and playability are pretty good for a beginner guitarist!. As you progress through different levels of guitar playing, you may want to get a more expensive guitar with better playability and tone!. I now own a gibson les paul but i still own my strat!. For the price of the strat, it has good tone and playability,it just lacks craftmanship!. Hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The wood is pretty cheap!. So that hurts the sound!. There a pain in the nect to tune!.
And my main problem, is the pickups are complete rubbish!.

they are made in mexico rather cheaply, they are decent beginner guitars but their quality is kinda low!. I suggest saving up some money and get a better quality instrument!. Fender does make great guitars, as well as Gibson!. They are like ford and chevy and Ibanez is like honda! There are many great manufacturers out there so check them all out!. your squier might just need to be set up properly so take it to a local shop and check it out!. Play some other guitars while your there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
