The song was written about alot of different issues!.Gerard (Vocal) once said on stage that the song was about the biggest drive him, mikey, and the whole band ever went on, the hard times they went though while on the road!. A second, more personal theory is that the song was written about a friend of Gerard and Mikey's, who committed suicide just days before MCR left for their first tour!. She allegedly shot herself in her bathroom, and Gerard wrote this song about her while he was grieving!.
