Answers:
Sherry Scott started with the band (1970-1972) but, was replaced by Jessica Cleaves who sang "Keep Your Head to the Sky!." She left unexpectedly in 1973, getting married, moving to Detroit & later working with George Clinton!.

The only other female backup singer was Krystal Bailey, who is currently married to Phillip Bailey!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There are two:

Jessica Cleaves (b!. 1948, vocals)

Sherry Scott (vocals)

Sherry Scott was recruited by Maurice White in 1969 to be a part of his band, (then named "The Salty Peppers") before renaming it "Earth, Wind, & Fire"!. She appeared in the very first EWF album released in 1970, but it was Jessica Cleaves who was featured on 1972's "Keep Your Head To The Sky" as Sherry Scott was no longer a member of the band!.

also for the record, she did NOT have a relationship with any one in EWF!. She was, however, the former lead singer for the group, Friends of Distinction, who did "Going In Circles"Www@Enter-QA@Com
