Probably yeah, but I do the same thing, when you are younger, your ears can heal themselves quicker, but as you get older it can turn into tinitus, which is just a loud whistling in your ears that you can never get rid of!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!. Headphone usage always causes hearing damage, and apparently the earbuds we use with ipods make it worse!. Listening with headphones is one of the worst things you can do for your hearing!.

In regard to ears "healing themselves" which someone noted - They don't!. Damage is damage, it doesn't heal at all, it is cumulative - you only notice when you are getting deaf as you get older!. Hearing damage is like skin damage - it stays with you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"The newest assault on our hearing comes in the form of the iPod!. While iPods typically come with an ear bud that sits in the bowl of the ear, some people are seeking specialized ear pieces that deliver the sound directly to the eardrum!. Light says such devices make the music louder, causing more hearing loss!."

yes loud music can damage your ears over time, i would sugest either decrease the volume, if you dont like outer noise, get sound proof ones, or get earbuds that dont go directly into the drumWww@Enter-QA@Com

Statistically speaking yes, hearing loss is a gradual thing, it doesn't just sneak up and you then surprise you!. Listening to loud music damages the inner ear, and the sensitive 'bits of machinery' you have in there!.

Now it's not fair to say that if you were to keep your ears in 'tip top' condition you should NEVER go to parties, raves, listen to loud music etc!. Because that would just be silly (and you'd have no social life!) - The inner ear can withstand a small amount of abuse but not long term!.

Take a look at this resource for more info - just maybe turn it down a few notches and you 'should' be fine!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Um, was it an iPod you were listening to!? You will probably lose some hearing!. You should turn it down!. That's what I suggest!. I think you should turn it down!. Don't ya think so!? 'K!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
