It all started in the 50s and the following inflenced everybody until the music died in 1959
Jerry Lee Lewis was outcast for marrying his cousin
Chuck Berry went to prison
Buddy Holly died
Elvis got drafted and went Hollywood after he got out
The Everly Brothers
Little Richard
The Big Bopper
Bill Haley
Fats Domino
Roy Orbison
Eddie Cochran
The Beatles were playing other peoples music at this time but they were together in 1959 and I would have loved to have heard them when they were first starting

Tie between
60's (for the British invasion and psychedelia)
70's (for Led Zeppelin and punk)
90's (for grunge and metal before Nu-Metal)
The 80's were okay, but I'd probably just go there for Guns 'n' Roses pre-Crazy Axl
