Would you classify Blondie as New Wave or Punk Rock?!

Question: Would you classify Blondie as New Wave or Punk Rock!?
Answers:
Blondie is a power pop band!. They began as a punk band playing in New York at CBGB's, but were always a little softer and more commercial friendly than punk!. As they evolved they became more New Wave!. Then again Blondie (even today) never really fit into a specific genre!. They always brought elements of all genres such as rap, jazz, and reggae into rock!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They were both!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

New Wave!. I used to have one of their albums, and there was nothing truly punk about them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

while "good" theyre not punk in any way
if you ask me they were a pop band
please dont soil the good name of punk with new wave or death metal or anything that sucks that badWww@Enter-QA@Com

this is just my opinion ,but i would have to say that when i think of Blondie i think New Wave!.But i believe they were in that first group of New York bands that played at the club Ceebee Geebees in the late 70's !.Where a lot of so called Punk bands came from!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Blondie was dubbed New Wave, along with a number of other groups in the early days of MTV!. Among the others are Flock of Seagulls, Eurythmics, The Fixx, Kajagoogoo and others sometimes described as "technopop"!.

"New Wave" has been overused since then!. But, Blondie was among the first groups to arrive on the scene!.

I was there when MTV first went on the air and quickly became addicted to it!. I really miss what it used to be!Www@Enter-QA@Com

New Wave!. Punk Rock was more of a label for the "angry young man" rockers epitomized by the Sex Pistols!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
