Yeah of course people use the music to form an identity!. I believe that i am more than the music i listen to now!. One time i considered myself a punk and i listened to punk music but i decided i don't have to conform to a nonconfrormist group inorder to have a unique identity!. i still listen to punk music sometimes though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

For example, the music my parents listened to when I was younger influenced the type of music I still like today, such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Hollies, Simon & Garfunkle, etc)!. Conversely, I also have found my own styles of music that suited me as a young adult (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, the Clash, etc!.)
