In 1959, I moved to Clovis, New Mexico where I worked with Norman Petty, who had produced Buddy Holly!. I recorded in London & New York, but a pop approach to my music did not work!. By the mid-1960s, I was performing live on WSM Radio in Nashville!. It was then that I received a call from Don Law who gave me the opportunity to record for Columbia Records!.
