If a guitar has a a stripe or line running down the back of the neck, does that !

Question: If a guitar has a a stripe or line running down the back of the neck, does that mean it is cheap!?!?
Answers:
Not necessarily!. The stripe (commonly refered to as the "skunk stripe") is both decorative, and serves a structural purpose!. It covers the cavity that houses the guitar's truss rod!. While the hole can be covered with the same type and color of wood, manufacturers usually use a different color for cosmetic purposes!. If there is no stripe, it means the truss rod was inserted from the front of the neck!. Sometimes the truss rod is inserted from the front, and a purely cosmetic skunk stripe is still applied!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
