First of all, allow me to educate whomever posted about the concerts they did last year. Axl Rose was the only original member so I don't consider that GNR. Axl Rose's massive ego ruined the band.

Appetitite for Destruction was one of the greatest hard rock albums in the history of music. You could make an argument they could have been one of the biggest bands EVER if they had stayed together. Unfortunately their popularity is based on one truly great album and a couple of good, but not spectactular albums which actually makes them fall in the overrated category. You can't be great only making one classic album. It is a shame because they could have done so more.

yep..they were awesome i dunno why they had to break up ='[

I've heard that Axl was the cause for the breakup.

If that is true and if he didn't cause whatever tensions among the original lineup then I guess they'd still be together.

However, GNR is a great band.

If I could choose one ex member to return to GNR it would be Slash.

He is an awesome guitarist.

No, they would have broken up at some point anyways. Axl Rose destroyed not only the band's artistic abilities but also his relationships with his fellow band members with his intense micro-managing of the band. No true artist would want to work under such a stressful environment where their creativity was stifled. The former members of GNR are much better off now not under Axl's dismal cloud of doom.

Only if Axl sorted out his attitude and Izzy had never left..
That band could have gone on to do greater things but Izzy's departure [he was a big part of that band, particularly lyrically] and Axl's controlling nature meant that things could only go down.
It's a shame.

this is the latest

On March 26, 2008, several news outlets reported that Dr. Pepper will offer a free can of soda to everyone in America - except the band's former guitarists Slash and Buckethead - if the band releases Chinese Democracy this year.[30] In a posting on Guns N' Roses' official site, Rose responded, "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album 'Chinese Democracy,' as for us, this came totally out of the blue. If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr Pepper with him."[31]

On March 27, 2008, Rose announced on the official Guns N' Roses website, that new management was hired. The new management team consists of Irving Azoff and Andy Gould
