10 Points for most thorough answer?!

Question: Can anyone list some good lullaby types songs? links from youtube would be awesome.. Not stuff like rock-a-by babye or nothin like that but just songs that are soothing like this one http://youtube.com/watch?v=lp69_dByl80
I have a hard time sleeping sometimes and such songs help but I need to get more cause i only have a handful of them. And for those of you who want to respond with "get sleeping pills" they dont work like they're supposed to they just make me feel drugged and don't help at all with nightmares.

Lullabies, eh?
I have a hard time sleeping without music, so I'll list some somgs that do the trick. Mine are usually fairly soothing stuff.

- Brian Eno - Stars - http://youtube.com/watch?v=z7c8Uxpypgw
-Eluvium - Under the Water it glowed http://youtube.com/watch?v=2NjQXrajzaA
- Broken Social Scene - Pitter patter goes my heart http://youtube.com/watch?v=l2r5NxXHiBc
-Devics - Secret Message http://youtube.com/watch?v=zJ45UpGovFM
-Bloc Party - Compliments http://youtube.com/watch?v=oKBqxoiiIVo
-Eluvium - "Reciting the Airships" http://youtube.com/watch?v=xB4ySyUj-Uc
- Burial - In mcDonalds http://youtube.com/watch?v=DOw62EREnCg
-Deaf Center - White Lake http://youtube.com/watch?v=cdRUMqds5r8
-Azure Ray - Sleep - http://youtube.com/watch?v=QFhzY31oYz4
-Explosions in the Sky - An ugly Fact of Life http://youtube.com/watch?v=TDlJIfTWDvs
-The Field - Silent http://youtube.com/watch?v=hnHNwQ_Y3KI (yeah, this is a bit upbeat and bassy, but it does the job for me.)
-Great lake Swimmers - Where in the World Are You http://youtube.com/watch?v=lUrSnSfhULc
-Jethro Tull - Wond'ring Aloud http://youtube.com/watch?v=EIWgajIYddI
-M83 - Slight Night Shiver http://youtube.com/watch?v=a3f-i2dsfC8
-Matthew Good band - Flight Recorder from Viking 6 (sorry, no youtube available, but it's an incredibly soothing song. One of my favourites of all time)
-Quosp - Colours series(4 CDs) http://www.metanoiamedia.com/META031.htm...
Links to the first, 'Green". The rest are available below(Bistre, Tangerine and Blue). All in zip format. All excellent ambient music to drift to sleep to.
-The Shins - New Slang (hyped to death, but it's so soothing...) http://youtube.com/watch?v=M11Kr1-q-pA

I could list more but I figure the listed artists are good enough. I mean, I have a regiment of Eluvium, Brian Eno, Explosions in the Sky(sometimes quite a bit harder, though still sleep-able to), and Quosp.

try this:

this is my sleep playlist:

"raindrops" by regina spektor
"both sides now' by joni mitchell
"hide and seek" by imogen heap
"river" by joni mitchell
"lullabye" by billy joel
"time of no reply" by nick drake
"close your eyes" by jump little children
"boats and birds" by gregory and the hawk

i hope one of these catches your interest and helps you with the night terrors.

Get as much Shpongle as you can. I would recommend their album "Tales of the Inexpressible."

There is a download link for it.

It's nothing like that song on youtube, but I find that if you turn the volume low it can put you in a very good state to sleep. Sorry if it's too far off from what you want.

Try a CD with nature sounds, like waterfalls, rain, birds..stuff like that. I am an off and on insomniac and have tried lots of things, I agree with you about the sleeping pills, they don't really work the way they should. One thing I do a lot is turn on a fan, the sound is somehow soothing in a way. It helps me get to sleep most of the time.

This is a slightly different kind of lullaby like song (called lullaby ironically enough lol). It's by Creed and it's mainly Guitar, really nice song and I hope that it helps you out. If I come up with anything else i'll answer again, Take Care.
