Is it true that if you hold your foot down on the base pedal?!


Question: If you hold your foot down while your playing drum on the base pedal? I heard off somone who heard from a website that it was a bad habit and you shouldn't do that, is this true? I wanna know so that it doesn't become a bad habbit for me. DRUMS FTW. :3

Burying the beater in the head deadens the sound of the bass drum. Letting it rebound gives you a more resonant sound. Usually drummers who play 'heel up' tend to bury the beater, and those who play 'heel down' tend to let the beater come off the head.

Your personal preference and the style of music you're playing should dictate which you should use. Experiment with both styles, and take some lessons from a good teacher if you can. That is the best advice I can give you.

It's probably not a good idea, but you should keep your foot on the Bass pedal. Just don't keep it down on it, cause you have to be ready to hit that bass pretty hard and solid
