Godsmack vs Tool....which do U like better?!
Question: I have noooooo clue but have heard some Godsmack...a chick at work says their better than Metallica WTF!, but want to venture into one of these groups more than the other so tell me why I should pick the one U like, I dont have time to listen to both now:) thanks!

Tool is amazing and innovative.

Godsmack, I don't know why. I just think Tools songs last 3 minutes too long! Tool is an amazing band though. and Metallica last coupkle of CDs were ABSOLUTE garbage. Lars is the biggest joke to humanity. He is such a cumsucker!

maynard james keenan is a lyrical genius!! my bro saw them in concert & said it was lifechanging. but yea they are awesome. the lyrics are so complex but great. & the music is f*cking great. they have some awesome guitar & bass.

Definitely, Tool. I don't really like Godsmack. I do like them but not that much.
Godsmack has a few great songs that I love to listen to on repeat, but Tool has a better all-around sound. You'd have a better bet with Tool
Never listened to Godsmack... but if they name themselves after a AIC song they must be alright, Plus I don't like Tool that much.

Godsmack has become so repetitious, no originality, nothing to right home about.
Tool is ALWAYS on the cutting edge, and is musically amazing, not prepackaged commercialized "metal" like that tripe Sully is dishing out these days.
Their first album, I thought they migth go somewhere. How wrong I was.
Plus, I believe that the Bassist for Tool is far and away one of the must underappreaciated bass players alive. He is freaking good.

Tool hands down their music is just epic! I would recommend getting Tool's Aenima, it's a great album, but honestly everything from them is great.
Nice, I was about to ask the same question. That is a really tough decision, but I would have to say Tool. Everything the produce is awesome. I just can't get enough of Tool. Godsmack is great though also, but I don't see any rock bands these days beating Tool.
Tool actually has musical talent and creativity. Godsmack lacks it completely.

Seeing as no Godsmack song has ever really floored me... my money is on Tool. Co-worker got me on them and its been an addiction since.
Peaches is right, Tools bassist is far too underappreciated. some of his bass lines are epic.
