One of the group members, Dawn, was drawing a female super hero when Diddy saw it and asked what her name was. That's how they got Danity Kane.
On the one episode on the show 'Making the Band 3' they said that is the name of the superhero that one of them made up.
i dont think it has a definite meaning, but it's original. besides, as Shannon-member of danity kane-said, do u know wat hobbostank means? or nickleback? or bowling for souup? it's an original name 4 them. it came from a superhero that dawn-another group member- drew wen they were in the studio. wen diddy walked in and asked her the name of it, thats the reply she gave. the first time i heard the name on trl a few months ago, i thought it was a cross with dandy cane and diddy or sumthing like that.
