Sort of. But Coldlpay is closer to U2. They've been called "U2 lite".
lead singer with coldplay is a huge fan of u2 & has said that they are his biggest influence
I agree with the Coldplay statement.
There are very few bands that compare to U2 though.
I don't think Simple Minds sound like them, but a similar genre.
most singers and groups sound alike. its just where they come from and what they look like that makes them popular and a hit with people. but i am not complaining because i am a fan of most. so it more than likely u2 and simple minds sound a like.
