If you write a lot of songs using mostly power chords but they sound good, does !

Question: AC/DC have been pretty much doing exactly that for ages. They're still around & many people still love them.

I think the 80s left us w/ the impression that guitar players have to be technical players.

  • No, it just means your taste in music points you towards power chords. I play guitar in a surf rock band, so I'm more inclined to write/play things that involve a lot of tremelo picking.

    Not in my book!! ;D

I'm kind of torn on this issue. Technically speaking, if your songs are full of power chords, that doesn't mean that you are untalented, it just means that your songs don't really take talent to play.

    no

    uhm...not really
it just means you guys like that heavy but cool sound
Dude, it doesnt really matter your talented either.
Way some people cant even play a power chord.
Just stick your stuff, and you 'll be fine

A lot of band ONLY play power chords.
like....hmmm...avenged sevenfold they made it big on power chords.

Just keep a good melody and youll be fine.

no it doesnt.. there are many bands that uses a lot of power chords but they still sound good.... i also write songs with lots power chords.. try open chords... its like power chord with an open string in the middle...
