Who is the G.O.A.T?!

Question: lil wayne, na just playin'. i dont know maybe rakim.

my reasoning: rakim has classic albums under his belt, he has a legend in the rap game, and he is STILL nice. i cant think of too many other people that have been rhyming that long that i would still buy their album the day it came out.

edit- i understand everyone has their opinion but 2pac wasnt the G.O.A.T.. he has too many tracks i have to skip over on his records. biggie neither, because unfortunately he didnt release enough music to show the depth of his character.

edit *2*- im going to have to disagree with KRS- ONE as well. i thought his last album (hip hop lives) was wack. the subject matter was the same in almost every song. all he kept rapping about was what rap used to be in his day. he sounded senile. i respect him as a legend no doubt, but i dont think he gets G.O.A.T. status. ll cool j is barely a legend in my opinion.

edit *3*- @ jesus air: no, but i think people choose Pac as the G.O.A.T. because they like him so much. G.O.A.T. status is supposed to be based on lyrical skill and prowess, no who your favorite rapper is. my favorite rapper is atmosphere but i would never claim he is the greatest of all time.

edit *4*- i disagree i dont think its a matter of opinion. i can PROVE rakim is better than 2pac by his catalog.

edit *5*- there are certain standards that factualize a rapper being good (not how much you like him, just how good he is):
delivery
potency
swag
Rakim had more of all three than 2pac did.

edit *6*- @ capult makaveli: see what you started? lol.

I have to go with 2pac.

-~-~-~Wow. I didn't know that a rapper being good or bad was factual. Where do I find these 'factual' ratings?

id go with bob

Rakim...or KRS that's tough

LL Cool J, he actually made an album proclaiming that.

Rakim

2Pac

LOL @ Hip Hop Rent A Cop..... it seems as if he thinks that everyones answers are merely opinions and only his answer is factual....... that's why it's called an opinion

EDIT: I know what you're saying, but when it comes to choosing the greatest of all time you can't tell people their choice is wrong, because it will all be a matter of opinion. I'm saying 2pac is the g.o.a.t and you're saying rakim is the g.o.a.t. I can't say you're wrong as much as you can't say that i'm wrong because neither of us can prove it. It all comes down to opinion.

EDIT 2 : Did they ever teach u the difference between fact and opinion in school? You can't prove an opinion. You can prove that the opinion is yours, but not that it's true. But hey, if you think you can and that's what helps you sleep at night... more power to you.

The Notorious B.I.G

He leads a strong pack of rappers -

Tupac, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Big L, Eminem.

Rakim by FAR
