Does Guns and Roses remind you of the Sex Pistols?!

Question: Appetite sure sounds like the Pistols to me. And I love it.

Answers: Appetite sure sounds like the Pistols to me. And I love it.

no! sex pistols are WAY more hard core and rebellious and in your face. i love them. and in music, G&R and more....classic rock. the sex pistols are really punk.

\nevermind the bollocks.../

Maybe, but the stage prescence is definitely different.

Not a bit threw these ears

have to disagree with you there, the only thing they have in common is that they play loud aggressive music.. other than that comparing them would be a huge kick in the *** to g&r, their musical talent puts the sex pistols to shame

The production sound is very similar sounding to Nevermind the Bollocks.. But not the songs in particular..

Pardise City would have a shot though.

DO Guns and Roses remind me of the Sex Pistols? Sort of, Axl has a high pitched voice and they're kind of punky that's about it. But not really.

I like Guns and Roses, but I love the Sex Pistols. To me they're not comparable, even if GNR, and Duff in particular, were influenced by punk. The Sex Pistols had a very raw and unpolished sound and attitude that I don't really find in too many other bands. And as far as lyrical content goes, while "taking on the establishment" is a fairly trite catchphrase these days, the Pistols took it to an extreme that most bands lack the courage or conviction to even attempt. My impression is that the monarchy is generally considered to be nearly as sacrosanct in Britain as the jingoistic indoctrination better known as the Pledge of Allegiance is on this side of the Atlantic. Anyone willing to risk the inevitable backlash, and in some cases even violence as retribution deserves some respect for laying it on the line like that. "Appetite for Destruction"? Fun album, but when it comes down to it, not especially threatening- songs like "Paradise City" or "Welcome to the Jungle" are a far cry from "Anarchy in the UK" or "God Save the Queen".

no

Worlds apart, both geographically and musically. Lydon would hate the comparison as GnR are the type o band they detested and loathed. GnR are pomp rock at its worst/best.

The only similarity I can draw is that both bands are fond of firearms.

are you crazy not at alll

Guns 'n' Roses are a hell of a lot better then the Sex Pistols. GNR puts the Sex Pistols to shame.

Well, I guess we need to thank the Pistols for GNR, they were one of Duff's biggest idols.

Sounds nothing like the sex pistols. as raw as appetite was, was still polished way more than anything the pistols came out with. Also, pistols' songs pretty much were written around 3 power chords or less with straight 8th note patterns. appetite was a bit more diverse and complex than that.

ahaha no, not at all
