Can other genres of rock besides punk be "straight-edge" for example, !
Question: Why not. i believe straight edge is more of a lifestyle than a musical genre. Although it is mostly a punk thing, I have seen kids who listen to metal be straight edge as well

I listen to metal and I have never touched a cigarette, weed or alcohol. I don't feel the need to put crap in my body.
Well, I don't do any drugs aside from coffee :) I do drink but only very rarely and I never get shitfaced drunk. I smoke a tobacco pipe about once a month. I'm not into sex for sex's sake (old fashioned morals).
And I'm a die-hard Metalhead.
Some of my friends (also Metalheads) don't drink at all.
We don't make a gigantic deal over it and it's not a fashion statement, but I guess if you wanted to you could call us "straight-edge" Metalheads
Some of my friends are straight edge, it's definitley more of a lifestyle thing, they don't drink or smoke.
i know a lot of guys that are huge Metal heads that are Straightedge
