Try first of all, to tell yourself why you are doing that musical...it is more than likely that you LIKE IT and you ENJOY IT, that is the way you should keep it. The other thing that might help is to distract your mind from the fact that you are going to perform. Either find a book to read that keep your mind busy or just sit down and relax, breath deep and feel your whole body become in one place. Breath deep again and slowly release the air while keeping your body relax.

Other thing you can try is to "become a rock" start by your feet, then your hand, arms, legs, and finally your chest and abdominal area little by little making all your muscles as if you were lifting weights. When you have reached your whole body muscles tight then release then all at once. This should not take you more than 10-15 seconds and it is exactly to make all your muscles relax. Do not harm yourself by tighten to an extreme, just enough to feel all your muscles tighten and no more than 10-15 seconds ok?

Good luck and enjoy the show!

You are welcome!! Congratulations!!! Enjoy the rest of your shows! Good luck! :D Report It

  • just take a deep breath and just keep postive that your do ok

same thing here, if only i knew how =(

Picture EVERYBODY in there under pants. Trust me. It really works. It calmed me down and it probably will calm you down too. BE MY FAN!!!

I always practice singing in front of friends, family, or a small audience, that way, by the time the big performance comes along, my breath knows what to do and doesn't let nerves get in the way. It can be a problem; you have to be relaxed to get your voice to perform at its best. try going over to your neighbors house and practice on them. then go somewhere else, and practice in front of as many people as you can until you are not nervous anymore. I hope you shine like a star!
