I admit I used to like his music, and think he produces v.good music compared to most of the sh*tty rap that is out today but I can't say he's amazing.
Besides, not everyone likes him.
I think he's one of the better producers these days.....even worked with Madonna on her new album, which sounds great from what I've heard of it ;)

Timbaland only backgrounds other peoples songs because he sucks as a solo rapper.
TImbaland is definitely a talented producer. I loved him way back from the Aaliyah and early Missy Elliott days until now. It's great to see the growth that he has had over the years. It's also amazing that he has the ability to remain relevant to the current music scene.
However, he is starting to use the same formula with most of the new music he's producing. It seems like he cares more for the money involved with producing any artist as opposed to putting time and quality into artists that he actually cares about. Like with Aaliyah, he gave her that extra touch and they had a great chemistry. But now, you get that odd song, like "Elevator" by Flo Rida, where there's nothing really special, but they are both involved because they are both hot at the time.
Using Timbaland is becoming a norm in the music industry. Which also lessens his value because he's so common. Music loses it's personality and creativity when a producer has such a large catalogue of music in such a small bracket of time.
