If Bruce Springteens "I'm on Fire" came out today....... would it !
Question: Hey LIITLE girl is your daddy home?
Answers: Hey LIITLE girl is your daddy home?
it IS perveted that way, isn't it? I always wondered why no one ever "called him" on that. I guess Born in the USA was just too big of a success and his iconic status prevented the obvious, or maybe that time in the 80's people just couldn't believe it. Another example: Frankie's "Relax, Don't Do It, When ya' wanna come" People would say "ummm, well, I'm not sure what's it's about." Puh-leeze!
I highly doubt it... Springsteen would be shocked if this hit song was being used for such a purpose. All because of just one line. Only pervs would intrepret (sp?) it that way. I think he's talking about a girlfriend with that "little girl" part.
no, it's called a " metaphor". do you really think john Lennon was a walrus? um no. metaphor, that's what makes music good it's open to interpretation
Well I agree the lyrics are unfortunate... but I don't think he did it with that purpose....
Just as many lyrics say "Mama" referring to a hot woman..and are not referring to the actual Mother or incestuous relations.
Naw, I call my wife, daughters and dog, all, Little Girl occasionally.
Don't know but he put on a SICK show on Monday.... still got it at 58!!
I'M ON FIRE
Hey little girl is your daddy home
Did he go away and leave you all alone
I got a bad desire
I'm on fire
Tell me now baby is he good to you
Can he do to you the things that I do
I can take you higher
I'm on fire
Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby
edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
through the middle of my soul
At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet
and a freight train running through the
middle of my head
Only you can cool my desire
I'm on fire
i highly doubt he was really singing to a "little girl" in this song. geez. leave the boss alone and quit interpreting his lyrics into nonsense.
highly doubt it
