Alice In Chains or Mad Season ?!
Question: Alice In Chains....it's hard to compare the two since Mad Season only had one album to judge. There was alot of promise in the music of Mad Season's album, but we never got to see where they were heading. Facelift was a good album, but if you were judging both bands only off their first album (in Mad Season's case, only album), then Mad Season would win....But Dirt is an album that few other cd's of the 90's can compare to, song for song.

I don't think Layne is the reason AIC were so good. Even though Layne was amazing in his own right, people don't realize that Cantrell is probably why they like the band so much. When a band has an amazing singer, the focus gets pushed onto them, and the actual sound is taken for granted. Mad Season lacks Alice in Chain's biggest asset.
Ironically, though, I can't stand AIC with the new guy.
