well i think she was and still country. i mean that in her first album "some hearts" u would find country songs like "i aint in checotah anymore" and "we were young and beautiful" and others. but in her second album "Carnival Ride" you would still find some country songs like "all american girl" but in lower number than her first. but i still thinks she is country/pop singer.
