youre right most of hip hip does suck... there ARE some artist who are good, who were good in the past and some are still making music, and im thankfull for that. most of these new-comers only got catchy hooks, that attract the teens, but nothing real...

Okay if you mean people like Soulja Boy and others I can't name off the top of my head because their that wack then yes I agree. I think anyone can get signed to a record label now and days. And your right a lot of artists aren't like ice-cube, common, biggie etc. but there's still good music out and just to say hip-hop sucks and give it a percentage in my opinion is stupid.

i totally agree. you can't even call it hip-hop. i'm an 80's baby so i'm glad i know what REAL hip-hop is......not this crap they play over and over again on the radio. it's sickening. i think it's only going to get worse tho.....
Ice cube, Common, Nas, Jay-Z still make hip hop. Talib Kweli and Mos Def make albums. Rakim is coming out with one some time. Wu-Tang Clan makes music.
Do I hate mainstream hip hop right now? **** yeah. Lil Wayne shouldn't even be considered "Best Rapper Alive." Calling what Soulja Boy makes as hip hop should be condemned though.
By the way, there is hope still. I was born in '89, but even I know what real hip hop is. I have yet to see someone who lived during the 80s and 90s as a teen or whatever say "Lil Wayne is the truth." It's only teenage girls and guys who think if they like Lil Wayne, it makes them cool.

I would say 75% of what gets play on the radio is whack not hip hop as a whole. I mean music itself has taken a dive since 2000. That would include Pop and Rock.
