Tom is amazing. :DDDD
okay, anyway.

I had to find my voice, too. Just walk around singing anything that pops into your head, anything that you have written. Don't sing along with recordings of other people, because you instinctively try to sound like them.
Put a lot of thought into what you want to sound like, what sort of sound you like.
And also, take really good care of your throat and your vocal chords. Use your diaphraghm, that muscle around your bellybutton. Push it out when you sing loudly, nobody cares if it makes you look chubby.

Just sit around in silence except for your own voice and try to find your own unique sound - just let it all out and you'll find it.

Well, maybe you should try to just do something to avoid sounding like Tom DeLonge. He has such a distinctive voice that people will pick up on that fairly quickly. I dislike his voice but I still recognize it all the time on the radio. Perhaps you can find your own style. Just try to modify things little by little until you find something you like. Record yourself and listen to it and see if you can compare it to anyone else, and when you can't... You have achieved unique-ness.

i know you problably know this, but try to put yourself into the notes, if you understand. i do that with my voice! check it out if you want, and email me, but, i hope that this can help you. ( Hint: Be creative)

try practicing different styles of singing listen to differnt artist from different genres and try to imitate them then make it your own alot of singers practice yodeling. i know it sounds wierd but i do it and i am a soul singer it will add a little color to your voice
