It's embaressing!?!
Question: Ok, I started this new school in January and no1 really thought of me doing rap/grime. And now that I might get my own album everyone's taking the mic. I'm proud of what I do, and my producer is encouraging me, but when people say like "oh, lemme hear one of your rap's" I find it hard & embaressing to do it because I know they're gona take the p*ss in the end. They've never really seen me as a grime/rapper and I want to show them I am but I don't know how if they don't take the mic.

I'm having the same problem as a songwriter because people always want to see my lyrics but it's something i'm really shy about and something i need to get over but this isn't about me lol it's about you! so here's my advice
if there's a chance you might get a record deal then you know you have something great something special so don't be afraid to show that start with people close to you because there's nothing like a little positive feedback to get you hyped
maybe build your way up to something like a talent show or performing at a dance because that way those times when you didn't wanna spit a few bars won't matter...and don't let those lines like "oh you aren't serious about your music" bother you because you know you have talent and i'm sure you find the right moment to let it shine!

EDIT: so you want to know what you should do if your rapping, and they snatch the mic away from you? the solution to that is, rap good and they'll be bumpin your music and won't care about taking the mic. Rap bad, and they'll take the mic, embarass you, and never let you live down the situation. But if they do snatch it, knee them in the balls hard.

yea thats the same for me i think...(if im understanding your question right) people are always asking me to "spit" something for them when they find out im a rapper and i get so embarassed and i never do
u need to show them u hard. if u come in a room with ya head down every1 gonna no something wrong. if u fight some1 whoop them an every1 no that ur nice with the hands. u need to do some thing get they respect so they no ur not soft
if youre not hard, then dont act hard. if you are, cool. the point is, be yourself. dont try to act a certain way just to be accepted because its not who you are. just flow, youre gonna have to get used to it sooner or later.

with all due respect: hip-hop is dying... it's gotten way too commerical and is no longer nearly as cool as it was 5 years ago. How can they keep doing the same stuff over and over?
