How many Hard Rock fans admit that they sometimes like pop bands.?!
Question: For me I'm a Metallica, Guns'n'Roses and Led Zeppelin guy but sometmes I catch myself listening to Chicago, Grass Roots, 3 Dog Night, The Guess Who, Harry Chapin even some Carol King or James Taylor. Do you ever feel that way.

I dig alot of pop music and also dig tons of hard rock metal. When I was younger, I used to hide alot of my musical tastes from people, in fear of what they would think. It's especially true in the hard rock/metal community. It's almost sacriligeous to admit to liking something besides music from that genre. That's just silly to limit yourself in that way. If my favorite movies are comedy, is it not alright for me to watch a thriller and enjoy that too? If my fave type of food is italian, can I not enjoy a hamburger? Enjoy what you enjoy. Most people that say they only like one genre of music is either really close minded, or lying.......
only a few from the 80s, like Devo, Men at Work, etc...
I appreciate "good" music....I'm more of a metal head....but , i would pay to see someone like neil diamond or even barry manilow....just because of what they have accomplished over their careers...
Pop music that acknowledges that it is pop music is ok. When it tries to be something else is annoying. Like Elliot Minor.
I love hard rock & lots of metal & there're plenty of pop I like. Esp. the older stuff you mentioned. But every once in a while a current pop tune w/ catch my ear. For ex. "Hollaback girl", "Crazy", "Hey Ya", etc...

yeah, i hate to admit it, but i like j-pop. i usually listen to hard rock, but i absolutely love j-pop and even some techno. embarrassing, i know..
Yeah i couldn't care less about admitting it I like what music I like.
