Do you think that hip-hop music have an affect people?why or why not?!

Question: I think the genre of hip hop has a great affect on people, along with the art of music as a whole. Specifically, when you look at the origin of hip hop; you notice it was built and was formed from a sub-culture of people. It's deeply rooted from urban societies, and usually the material in it is relatable by many. You know, products of their environments, street poets painting pictures. Ultimately in the end, it's up to the listener to determine how he/she is going to interpret the music. Hip hop is not a direct cause of actions of others, it's similar to the statement: Guns don't kill people, bullets do.

Yeah, they listen to good music.

I think rap makes girls get knocked up and says the word club in every song

Well, doesn't ALL music have an affect on people? (makes you feel happy, sad, like dancing, angry?)

Music would not be music if it does not have an affect on people

If it has a good beat.. its a good dance songs... therefore it makes girls shake tha booty and excersize !

yes Ive heard that you can get aids from hearing it

Yeah, the music video they make, make people want to do what they watch in the video. Is this good or bad?

Not in a serious way, it is music after all and music is something that affects everyone that listens to it, but I don't think it's going to be in a negative way, except maybe loss of hearing from listening too loud. My reasoning would be that unless the person is mentally unstable or really envious of the musician, I don't think they're going to do anything bad.

It affects your emotions, mood, etc, just like all music does. I don't think it's the root of all evil or anything like that, though.

I think music can only influence you if that's what you we're looking for in the first place-not the other way around. However, the culture of hip-hop is very contagious and regardless of what the latest cynic has to say about rap music, hip-hop is the culture that finally brought the youth of the world together more than ANY other music/culture known to man.

if there's not a proper adult influence to counteract the ignorance of SOME hip hop music, i would say that it could affect younger people. Adults are swayed by music as well but it's mostly in the type of clothing or spending habits but kids can buy into the negative things that are glorified by some artists. things like disrespecting women or using drugs.

I think its affect is small. Compare it to the damage, death and war that religion and its followers have caused. If I could choose to get ride of one it would be the worst of the two. Religion. Are you pinpointing rap because you're a racist?

yeah because if your really listen to the lyrics 9 times out of ten they acually mean something

Yes, I believe so.

Take a look around you.

I bet you can see a bunch of people who have grills in their mouths, pants that comes down to their ankles, and kids who acts like thugs..

It's ridiculous.

What has the world come to??!

Ahhhh! I miss the 80s, even though I've never been in that awesome time of life.
