Question: ...my avatar resembles "Elton John," and they are "not" saying that in a "nice" way...
...so my question has to be, given the fact that "gay or not" I would "jam some rock" with Elton John any day of the week, and be proud to do so...

Personally I don't see the resemblance at all, your avatar doesn't look like a filthy rich fat gay man.

I love Elton John's music. Not sure if his musical talent has anything to do with his sexuality. And he is very talented, just watch videos of his live shows.
I also like quite a few other musicians who are either openly gay are kind of androgynous, like Prince, Little Richard, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Micheal Jackson. So I don't think it matters.

i'm an elton john fan but this question makes me think of someone that to this day, i think of as the personification of the heavy metal frontman, not as a gay man, rob halford. i agree with you, who cares?!
People always make fun of greatness. I almost knocked a guy out once when he said that Stevie Nicks was a fat mess.

As far as the Elton John thing, who cares? I'm not a big fan of his, but others are. On he goes- he stated early in his career that by middle age he still wanted to be creative and on the move, instead of becoming an oldies act. He has succeeded.

We must be able to accept everyone is not us. To many people cannot accept one life style unless it is in conforming with their value system.
