Nirvana????!

Question: I've always wondered since "You Know Your Right" came out. I think that sounds different then all the rest. What do you think their music would sound like if Kurt was still alive and making great music?

Their sound would probably be different, like all the other grunge bands. I think Kurt's songwriting and their music would've gotten a little more socially and politically conscious, too. Think about it, Kurt would be in his 40's by now, and a mega-rock star, moreso than he was before he died. You can't sing much about youth and alienation anymore.

I agree, I think "You Know Your Right" sounds much different than the rest. In my opinion I like the rest of their music better. If Kurt were still alive their music would be off the chaiinn. I wish he was, their music might actually appeal to me... But I suppose it happened for a reason...

Man, I can only imagine. I remember hearing that In Utero was supposed to be a rebellion of Nevermind. They would've gone back to their punk-inspired roots I think. It would've been great, but everything happens for a reason. After all, if Kurt was still alive there would be no Foo Fighters.

If only Kurt was still with us.... *sighs*

emo????? yes!

I agree, it does sound a bit different. mostly the verses, in my opinion, where Kurt sounds a bit different. Bridge and chorus sound like classic Nirvana to me.
If kurt didn't pass away, i think the overall future of music would have been different. After his death, grunge seemed to fade away, and the whole "bubble gum pop" came in with acts like Britney, Nsync, etc.
that change i guess into r&b, and branched off into more music genres. if he was still with us, perhaps grunge would have never left and bubblegum pop never came in.
i would guess that over time, the music would have become more softer, like something in the way.

It's a question I went over a hundred times in my head, because it does sound so different..But, at the same time, it kind of seemed like an 'I'm packing in it, I'm leaving' song, plus the band was falling apart at that time too..
But if they would have continued I would've loved to hear it..
Alas..
