What is SO bad about FALL OUT BOY, MCR ?!

Question: Now all the haters.. It's time to open up and let those feelings out and explain it (if you really have an explanation)

There are many questions about WHO HATES MCR etc.. But you never list your reasons why..

So what are your reasons for hating these bands ? (MCR,FOB,PANIC etc)
Please say something MUSICAL which you dislike about them.. not their fanbase or how they look.. (thats rather pathetic hating a band for those)
And be specific.. Is it the singing ?guitars etc.. ?
And do give examples of songs etc.

These should help you open up and let the feelings out.. (if you really do hate them)

It's funny how some people will make fun of a band with no real criticism and then act like its fans are the immature ones eh?

I never insult a band (out loud) that I haven't heard, although I do make assumptions somethings based on names, looks, and fans, I don't stick to those opinions as tenaciously as some. And what I mean by that is that I make assumptions about whether or not I'll like them, I don't just assume they're worthless and I'm right and all else wrong. Sometimes I'm rightt (Fall Out Boy's music just doesn't do it for me, same with Good Charlotte etc.), and sometimes I'm wrong (I really enjoy My Chemical Romances Black Parade album) and I'll admit it when I'm wrong.

well, they obviously have talent if they're two of the biggest bands in the US today and can write a bunch of songs that people like. i dont like them, but i respect them as a musician. i dont bash any band unless it does something immoral.

The fans are what make me hate the band. I have nothing against the bands personally. And to tell the truth I like the song Teenagers. I always bash their musical talent, but Ray Toro and Frank Iero can actually pull off a solo. Something FOB can't do. Now this doesn't mean I like them but I'm just saying.

i personally find the singing and lyrics rather grating

but i asked that same thing a little while ago and got the same answers you were describing. makes no sense to me

Well Number One - Theres Nothing Wrong With Mcr,But Fall Out Boy I ******* Hate Them .. I Dont See The Need For Them Especially Pete Wentz :|

The only band I like out of those bands is Panic at the Disco because I ACTUALLY like their music, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon and saying "they look gay so I'm not gonna like them" which is basically why a lot of people don't like them.
There's nothing wrong with the rest of them but I don't like them because I don't like their sound, I respect them as artists though.
They're obviously doing something right if they have thousands of fans.
It's kind of stupid to not like a band because of their fans or the way the look because you're not in it for the music and that's idiotic.

absolutely nothing. They are both great bands.

bart simpson IS fall out boy!

1.Their music is meaningless.
2. They brainwash their 12 years old teeny bopper fans to buy their sucky records
3. Their fanbase is so annoying and aggressive that they would physically kill any "hater".
4. There are at least 78546958 bands that make better music than they do but they are still underground because they can't afford a music label.
5. They like to cut their wrists.
6. They are posers. "Rock" my ***
7. They can't sing
8. They can't play guitar
9. Their lyrics suck
10. They are immatures. Gerard is 31 years old and yet he's emo. Grow the f*ck up, Gerard.
11. They just suck.

My Chemical Romance: alot of the songs sound the same to me, and the vocals aren't exactly super
Fall Out Boy: they're just not my type of music, and I think they sound like alot of other bands (can you say unoriginal?)
Panic at the Disco: I don't want to sound like a broken record, but their songs sound similar and I don't like their new album....it doesn't sound like they put alot of work into it
@->-->-

To be honest I really dont know. And I think everyone hates them because of there fan base and appearance. I am not a fan of them btw

I can just ignore the bands. I do think they are crap. They just don't appeal to me. Yes, I have listened to them all. They are kind of like the fast food of music. All empty calories.

PATD... make my flesh crawl. I listened to several songs, and UGH! Terrible lyrics.

FOB ...Way too pop.

MCR I can not stand GWs voice. I think the lyrics are unremarkable... again fast food.

To be perfectly honest, if it weren't for the obnoxious ( and no, not all are ) Fans I wouldn't give them a second thought.

Because they are mediocre at best, if not worse. Yet they get praised by 14 year old zombies that save pictures of Gerard Way like they're currency. There are tons of better bands that deserve attention, and they aren't any of them.

they sold out hardcore.

fall out boy used to be decent (fall out boys evening with your girlfriend) but then after FUCT their musical quality took a dive to make more fans and more money

and that just doesnt fly with me

same thing with MCR

Panic is the only band that didnt sell out, they just seemed like they would.
their first album was an instant success, and sure the record label helped out a bunch, but a lot of it was intuitive sound

Actually I dont hate those bands, I dont like the music or listen to them, but the fans of theirs I hate and I direct my hates towards the bands because of their annoying, ignorant, again annoying fans.

I don't hate their music, but I wouldn't be caught dead listening to it. I do agree that they're fans are annoying.

I believe you are confusing the fact that ppl say that they are not emo as if they were saying they were bad.

I lvoe those bands really I do been to their concert own some t-shirts and have their CD but what I hate is that ppl say they are emo THEY ARE NOT (I also love real emo music).

The only band that I truly hate is Panic. I saw them in concert four years ago, and they were jumping around in confusion. The timing was off, the singer's voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard, they had no stage presence. Terrible show. Maybe this was because they had been on only one tour (there first album had already dropped), and the only reason they got signed was because they annoyed Pete Wentz on his live journal and became friends with him. Their lack of experience left a bad impression on me, and frankly, I have seen no growth from them. They are kind of like the Paris Hilton of the music industry- no real talent, but got lots of connections.

As for FOB, I like a few of their older songs. I also really like Patrick Stump's voice, and some of their acoustic stuff really enhances it. There newer stuff just doesn't appeal to me anymore, lyrically or composition-wise. It's become too overworked.

I'll be completely honest, I do not like MCR because of the fan base. They annoy me. Maybe some of their songs aren't too bad, but I refuse to listen to them and give into the crazies. Stupid, I know.

Mostly it's the singing. They all sound very very similar, and they all have that same "I'm-so-alienated-and-no-one-understands... sound. Not really sure how to describe it. Its kind of like a weird, pop-like voice singing notes that are sort of in a specific format. I don't know how to describe it other than that.
All of their songs have an irritating musical format other than that too. Like a few lines of singing followed by a lot of refrain and generic guitar, usually ending in a lot more refrain and a lot more guitar and drums that is dramatic but also somehow completely lacking personality or talent.
And the lyrics. They are obviously written to sell, not to express genuine feelings. They all kind of have that message that at first glance seems like it should be sort of deep, but then you realize that it really isn't, and they aren't expressing anything new, they are just expressing exactly what people what to hear.

Example:
This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race
I listened to this song and wrote down notes about how the time was divvied up, and here is what I got. It neatly supports my little theory about the format.

:00 - :21 - Verse
:22 - :59 - Refrain
1:00 - 1:20 - Verse
1:21 - 2:00 - Refrain
2:01 - 2:17 - some type of bland instrumental work
2:18 - 2:26 - strange disembodied singing that sounds like "sampling" in a rap song
2:28 - 3:15 - Refrain

Notice that the majority of the songwriting goes into the refrain which is repeated 6 times according to the lyrics I looked at, and look at it:

This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
I'm not a shoulder to cry on
But I digress
I'm a leading man
And the lies I weave are oh so intricate,
Oh so intricate

So by my count, they repeat the line "This Ain't A Scene, It's A Goddamned Arms Race" 18 times throughout the 3:15 song. So you can see the issue I have with the songwriting.

Edit: This is why I don't listen to these bands if I can at all avoid it. My hatred of them does come from their fan base.

They're overrated.

I don't hate any of these bands (but the only one I really listen to is MCR). I don't really like PATD's music, but that's just my personal taste. There's nothing wrong with them. I think people hate these bands because they're SO successful and had a lot of luck. That's the only reason I can really think of.

lets see......

Fall Out Boy -

songwriting is plain horrible and cheesy.
none of them are credible musicians.
their music is tailored to mtv and 8th grade dances.
the song titles....ugh.

Panic At The Disco -

the singers voice is terrible.
the songwriting is crap.
none of them are credible musicians.
the song titles....gee i wonder where they got those from....ugh.

My Chemical Romance -

they can play, i've seen them at Starland.
not a huge fan of singers voice. it is also suspect live.
the songwriting isnt horrible, but it isnt great either. i guess the word is decent.
they sound like they are passionate about what they are singing/playing. that counts for something with me.
the black parade....its cool they went for the concept album approach.
yes, the fans are annoying (no, not all of them) but no reflection on the band itself. i only cite music as the source of my opinion.

so in conclusion i think i have come up with sufficient reasoning as to why fob and patd suck. mcr really wouldnt get crapped on as much as they do if it werent for the fans. while this may seem unreasonable to you, it is a reality. if you were to check my posts, you would see that while i may indulge every once in a while to a certain helping of fun, i do generally tend to stay out of the crossfire. it doesnt help ease the tension and i personally dont like it when people say the same about groups that i listen to. also, i would like to add that this may be just a fad for many and that some day they will realize that what they listened to was silly. i had a shameful collection of music when i was a teen and it took some growing up, elder influences, personal investigating, internet, etc. to help me grow out of it. people change, especially when they are still in HIGH SCHOOL.

i actually love FOB's first album. i think that is one of the best emo/pop-punk albums out there, if not the best. the thing i hate about fall out boy is how they turned away from their roots and started producing music that is centered around 3 power chords and how their vocals turned to mumbling ****.

Music, I just don't like it. The guitars are dull and boring, the vocals suck, and it doesn't make me feel anything. Simply put, it bores me.

But I hate their fans even more. They put looks over music and give them WAY too much hype.

Here you go, reasons for why I hate 3 of the bands you listed (MCR, FOB and Panic)

Lets start with MCR. They're just too, I don't know, annoying. Their singing, instrumentals, everything about them is just plain annoying. That's all I can really say about them.

Panic: Their singing, and their instrumentals. They just don't make sense. Again, I find them just downright annoying for some reason.

Fallout Boy: I actually have some legit beefs with all of their members. They are all just mediocre. So, without further adieu, here is why I cannot stand Fallout Boy

Drums: Okay, drumming is mediocre, I'll give you that. No complaints just because its hard to find a BAD drummer.

Guitar(s): I'm not sure if there are one or two guitar players, I'm pretty sure there's two, but they could just layer it in the studio. If there are two though, nobody likes two players that play power chords. There has to be at least SOME sort of lead....

Vocals: What the hell does he say? Does anybody know the words unless they look at a book or online somewhere? The lyrics really are pretty stupid anyway though, so I can understand why he mutters them at a pitch only a dog can hear, because he's probably embarrassed by them. Really, and the pitches he sings at, its almost like nails on a chalkboard, think about it and take it home in your pocket...

and that brings me to...BASS

I know this creep's name because, well, everybody's ga ga over him. Pete Wentz is nothing more than an average bass player that has to be showcased because the guitarist(s) are so bad at their instruments. I figured out the bass riffs to Dance Dance, Sugar We're Going Down, and "A Little Less.." in about 10 minutes....3 days after I got my bass...It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if someone can do that, the bass riff can't be that good. Really...

I dont like MCR just because the guy doesnt change cords. Its like one long scream with breathing. Then fob i was a huge fan but now i'm not as much. I was a big fan at first becuz i just liked the way the music was like the beat. But now that there getting so big there almost too cocky and then it comes out in the album. Like they could sing about **** and there would still be like those girls who dont care just as long as Pete's there. I mean it all comes to a certain extent as in hmm i'm trying to see how to put this. Fob was WAY better with there first couple albums and then they get a little bigger and it comes to be just w/e. Idk how to word it sorry i lost interest in them becuz they lost the real reason to making music and that bugged me.

i used to like all of those bands still like panic though

i think most ppl r so hard on them is bc they changed, they have suckish voices almost girly. and there old albums are harder,

the bands are great. i think people don't like them is because it is out of their genre.

I hate FOB's singer, their songs all sound the same too. Lyrics sucks and musicianship is meh.
For Panic, see above.
MCR, haven't heard any.

lol at Cat Stevens dumbass emo comments.
