What do i do if my mom does not like my music?!
Question: I listen to hardcore and metal. my mom listens to country and some hip hop and softer rock. She absolutely hates my music and she made me erase all of my hardcore off of my mp3 and then she took it away. I cant get it back untill I change my style in music and my attitude. I really do not know what to do to get it back. I tried to tell her i am not gonna change who I am for her. sshe saiid i better. What do i do? i just wanna be ME. Who I am NOW!! Not a poser pretending to be me, who doesnt like anythinng aboutt me.

That's insane. Woah. I listen to hardcore, too, and my parents don't really approve, but still they don't say anything about it. You are, and should be, free to choose your own style of music, right? When I read the part where your mom took away your mp3, I was about to smash the keyboard! No, that shouldn't be happening. I mean, I could understand why she wouldn't want you listening to that kind of music - just like my mom too. So what you should do is talk it over with your mom, and really you're on the higher ground there as long as you don't lose your cool and start yelling at her, because you have the right to listen to what you want to. What I suggest is gather some backup points and explain calmly to your mom why you like the music, and why you think you should be allowed to listen to it. If she's still really firm, though, back off, and try again the next day after giving her chance to think about it. She should soon see that you're right.
Oh and a tip: Turn the volume down, even though the whole point of hardcore is to turn it up. If you don't bother her, seriously, what's the problem right?

I listen to classic rock. Depending on what your mom doesnt like about hardcore classic rock should been fine. My mom doesnt like heavy metal either, but shes fine with classic rock. My favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Jimi Hendrix. Still good rock, but not too hard rock that moms hate it.
Do what the first person said, or, change all the names of your songs to classic and other kinds of music. Haha kind of sneaky but might work (might bite u in the a ss though lol)

It sounds like your mom is a control freak. If she doesn't like your music, she doesn't have to listen to it. Your music taste is yours, and hers is hers. It sounds like she has the problem, not you.
