I need some serious answers about acting/singing?!
Question: I live in a somewhat small town in Kentucky and my dream/goal is to become a singer. And I know I'm good, I just don't know how to get started. I really don't want to wait till I'm like 25, I would like to get started now. But how?

i'm 22 years old and i've been singing all of my life. i started singing in public when i was in high school in my show choir. i did solo competitions, sang in church plays, i've sang on the radio at community events. you need to start small while you're still thinking big. sing anywhere you can in your town. i know it's hard because i'm from a very small town, too. i'm also not famous but i don't wanna be. i love to sing and yes, i know i'm good at it too, but it's just not what i want. plus i have 2 kids and i want to be with them, but anyway, i do karaoke all the time at the bars and stuff and just have fun with it. people notice though when you stand out. a lot of times you have to be at the right place at the right time with the right people before you get "discovered". try to sing at events, see if you can't find someone that has an in home studio like i did and just record a few songs. send them off to different companies. or find some people that just write lyrics and then sell them to people. they usually need good singers to sing different hooks. if you want to be famous, you gotta do what you can when you can to sing. hope you make it and if my advice works and you become famous, you better let me be a back up singer at least, hahaha....good luck.
dont think big just yet. if you can afford one get a manager. so he can get you gigs or what not. if you cannot get one. sign at church. go to a karakoe (sp?) and show them what you got. keep on doing this until people start recognizing you. then hopefully you can go big.
