It's hard to say, there are so many other great metal bands like Slayer and Iron Maiden. I think they are one of the greatest but not the greatest.

With the hundreds of metal bands rising in Europe, no.. Pantera is gone though, they were great in their day, but now it is time to move on ahead to worship some kind of new metal band that doesn't suck? They are everywhere, all over, underground, dig for it, and spread the music.... Metal will never become popular again when people are stuck in the 1980's.... Cause good music is out there, believe me, I listen to it...
