Cavalry Entry Song?!

Question: There's this song that is played when the cavalry enters a scene. The only thing I can tell you it's been around for a while. Because I can't describe sounds, I'll just say that it can be described in beat as:
da-da-da, da-da-da, da-da-(da) (da) (da)

All the notes but the last 2 are played very quickly, and divided into three parts. the last three come right after the last fast set, and get higher than the one before it.

Any idea you might have, tell me please! I just taught myself it on the guitar, but its no good if I don't have a name.

William Tell Overture, perhaps??

Other than the "William Tell" Overture(intro of 4th section), there are only two other possibilities that come to mind.

Franz von Suppe's "Light Calvary" Overture. The section you're thinking of(maybe), comes in the middle and towards the end.

Prior to the mechanization of our military, back in the days of the calvary, etc., the Army had a specific roster of bugle calls(like "taps"), designed to alert the soldiers as to what action was next called for.

You might google U.S. Army Bugle Corp, and see what comes up.

Good luck,

Alberich
