Ohh, indie music is my specialty. :)
If you want some bands, I would recommend Death Cab For Cutie- some of their older songs such as "President of What?" or "Title and Registration." Some other goodies are "We Looked like Giants" and "Summer Skin" though. (Can you tell they're my favorite band? Haha)
Some other good choices are the Strokes, Q and not U, Mates of State, Tokyo Police Club, Placebo, Radiohead, and the Arcade Fire.
If you're into electronica stuff, I would recommend M.I.A., Uffie, Sneaker Pimps, Hot Chip, or even Radiohead's song "Idioteque." It's really original and has such a great beat, makes you want to dance.
