Birlin (last name) , wrote it in 1918 while serving in the U.S.Army at Camp Upton in Yaphank, NY but, decided that it did not fit in revue called Yip Yip Yaphank. So he held off. The History which cotinues on is on -( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/diglib/
