Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis. Brian Eno or Pete Namlook ?!
Question: Wow! A decent question for a change LOL
Brian Eno will always be my Favorite. From his inventive self-created mechanisms with Roxy, through his early Solos and Looping albums with Fripp - then onto the Ambient stages, with Discreet, Films, & Airports - I just think he is always moving forward, which I think is important.
I prefer Vangelis over Jarre, because his overall body of work is so much broader than Jarre. If fact, I don't think that Jarre has ever improved on Oxygene, though Equinoxe was good.
I'm afraid I don't know Namlook - but you have peaked my interest.
I'm also a HUGE fan of Schulze and his first Ten albums are all brilliant. Next would be T. Dream, then the early Froese.
A lot of credit should be given to Cage & Riley, but they never moved forward, as I mentioned before. It's like Eno took the baton from them and POW... took off LOL
thanks for the question!!
